Dr. Yaghchi is a veteran anaesthesiologist with over 30 years of experience. He completed his initial residency training in Tehran, Iran in 1993. He did a fellowship in Intensive care and held the position of the Chief of Anaesthesia at the Zanjan University of Medical sciences in Iran. He did another full residency in anesthesia at Ottawa University and Obtained his FRCPC in 2009. He then Joined Guelph General Hospital where he worked at The Guelph Regional centre of Excellence for vascular and Bariatric Surgery until 2015. He then joined William Osler Health System in 2015 . He became the site chief at Etobicoke General Hospital and he is currently the interim corporate chief of anaesthesia at Osler. Dr. Yaghchi is a member of various national and international anaesthesia societies. He is a valuable asset to Astra Ambulatory Surgery team.

Certified by both the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Michael embodies excellence and expertise. He completed his residency training at Queen's University in 1994, nurturing a solid foundation in obstetrics and gynecology. Since then, Dr. Michael has been an active staff member in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at William Osler Health System, Etobicoke Campus. His dedication to providing exceptional care has garnered him a stellar reputation among colleagues and patients alike. Driven by a passion for innovative and minimally invasive techniques, Dr. Michael established the Astra Minimally Invasive Surgery Unit. This state-of-the-art Independent Health Facility (IHF) in Ontario has been a pioneer in ambulatory gynecological surgery since 2011. With a focus on advanced, minimally invasive gynecological surgery (MIGS), the unit has revolutionized patient care, prioritizing comfort, efficiency, and optimal outcomes. As a true visionary, Dr. Michael's vision for women's health transcends traditional boundaries. His dream became a reality with the establishment of Astra's Women's Health and Ambulatory Surgery Centre. By shifting women's healthcare to an innovative outpatient setting, Dr. Michael ensures better access to care and timely delivery of services, ultimately improving the overall patient experience. Dr. Michael's expertise spans a vast array of medical and surgical fertility and gynecology problems. His proficiency in endoscopic procedures, with a specialization in Reproductive Surgery, sets him apart as a leader in the field. Dr. Michael's particular interest lies in uterine anomalies, recurrent intrauterine adhesions, and severe Asherman's Syndrome, where he strives to find effective solutions for his patients. Today, Dr. Michael continues to make significant contributions to the field of reproductive medicine. Through his extensive knowledge, exceptional surgical skills, and unwavering commitment to his patients, he has positively impacted the lives of countless individuals seeking specialized care.
Dr. Amanda Michael brings gynecologic expertise and compassion to our surgical center. With a focus on women's health and a deep understanding of the intricate complexities of the female reproductive system, Dr. Michael provides exceptional, minimally invasive surgical care and personalized treatment options. Dr. Michael earned her medical degree from McMaster University and went on to complete her training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Toronto. Dr. Michael has a special interest in minimally invasive gynecology surgery, including the treatment of fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding and ovarian cysts. Her surgical approach focuses on maximizing patient outcomes while minimizing discomfort, scarring, and recovery time. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Obstetrics & Gynecology and is a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS), the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) and the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada (SOGC). Dr. Michael is committed to delivering the highest standard of care to her patients. Her patients benefit from her compassionate and patient-centered approach. Dr. Hegazy graduated from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt in 1990. He completed his residency training in Anaesthesia at the same University Hospitals in 1995. He became staff anesthesiologist working at the university hospitals until 2000. He was then promoted to associate Professor rank in the department of anesthesia in 2005. He has then moved to Canada and did a two year fellowship at the Toronto General Hospital in the time period 2006-2008. His fellowship focused on cardiac anesthesia, oncology, liver transplant and general surgery. Afterwards, he moved to Nova Scotia where he served as a consultant anesthesiologist at the Cumberland Health Care Center from 2008-2011. He joined William Osler Health system in 2011 and he is currently an active anesthesiology staff in the department of anesthesia at Osler. We welcome Dr. Hegazy joining our facilities bringing his expertise and knowledge to Astra Ambulatory Surgery team.

Dr. Rami Elias is a highly skilled and compassionate urologist providing exceptional surgical care at our state-of-the-art outpatient surgical center. With a passion for improving patients' quality of life through innovative urological procedures, Dr. Elias is committed to delivering personalized and cutting-edge surgical solutions. Dr. Elias completed his medical training at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy, Robotic Surgery and Minimally Invasive Urology. He specializes in performing minimally invasive procedures that optimize patient outcomes and minimize recovery time. At our outpatient surgical center, Dr. Elias provides a comprehensive range of urological procedures, including minimally invasive prostate surgeries, kidney stone treatments, and vasectomies. His meticulous attention to detail and surgical expertise allow him to consistently achieve optimal outcomes for his patients. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Urology. He is a member of the Canadian Urology Association (CUA), American Urological Association (AUA) and Clinical Associate Professor (Adjunct) at McMaster University.
